As you all know, the diet of the average student usually consists merely of noodle in a pot based products, so as a CU we often try to dish out healthy alternatives such as doughnuts (of a multitude of flavours), snacks, various biscuit related items, jaffa cakes (which we all know are a cake…), and the Word of God (usually in gospel form). This (and many other miscellaneous items like printing) needs funding.
Yes – God provides, and we completely believe and trust that. However there does come a point in which we need some sort of monetary income. As students the majority of us have a limited disposable income, however as a follower of Christ I believe that our love for him should overflow into all areas of our life (including our money) in order to support outreach and evangelism (and of course that vital funding of doughnuts). Paul (the one from the bible) in 2 Corinthians 8:3 wrote:
‘For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more.’ – and that takes courage!
I promise I’m not trying to guilt trip you – personally I actually find it challenging myself! But if you do have some cash to spare, or maybe instead of buying that mocha/frappe/coffee/beer/’chocolatey’ beverage… (yes I know that’s cliché) it’d be a such blessing to us (and actually to you as well) if you decided to donate to RHCU. Thank you so much for your generosity!
If you are not a student and wish to donate then also please feel free to contribute!
If you wish to donate, or have any questions, please feel free to contact our treasurer Alice Larke – firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are a student, one really important way you can support us is by becoming a member of our society through the Students Union. It’s just £12 for the whole year and is a vital form of funding! Become a member today at: http://www.su.rhul.ac.uk/activities/society/christianunion/
