We are blessed with so many great churches in the local area and cannot recommend enough that you check out and join a local church during your time at university. Here are some of the churches where Royal Holloway students go to already.
Ascot Life Church is part of the family of Newfrontiers Churches and is a wonderful community where you can come completely as you are. As a people who are changed by God’s love and grace, we want to be a church where people meet Jesus, can find home, be loved and take this message of hope to the ends of the earth. We have a brilliant student community as well as a diverse church family who would love to do life together and welcome you in. We have two meetings every Sunday: Life 10, our main Sunday service, which meets at Ascot Racecourse and Life 6, a more relaxed service with cake and sofa’s, at our Life Centre. There are pick ups for Students from Founders Tennis Courts at 9.45am and 5.45pm every Sunday. Students are always provided with delicious lunch after the Sunday morning service and we also have weekly student Small Groups which provide opportunities for students to grow and learn together, as well as plenty of areas where students can get stuck into church life. At Christ Church Virginia Water we really want to know Jesus and make Jesus known. We are a family church situated in Virginia Water, just down the road from Royal Holloway. We have two services on a Sunday and we have a mini bus pick up for each of them, one at 10am (for the 10.30am service) and one at 6.10pm (for the 6.30pm service). As a student group, we always have lunch together on a Sunday, once a month with the whole church family and on the other weeks we are hosted by some amazing families from within the church. We meet up informally in the week to read the Bible together and just hang out! We love having students in our church and for them to be involved in the life of the church, whether through being in a small group or serving with the children, in the worship band, in hospitality or in some other way.

Equippers Surrey is a church dedicated to equipping people for life, through faith in Jesus. We’re part of a global network of Equippers churches but we’re passionate about serving the local community and that includes our students! On Sundays, we have a minibus pick up from the tennis courts at 3pm to take you to our 3.30pm service, which is an energetic and exciting hour or so of celebration, with great teaching and fabulous worship, followed by a time to get to know people over some delicious tea or coffee and a whole variety of tasty snacks! We also have regular student lunches, connect groups and trips (check out Gravity Force in Camberley) to give you a break from all the hard work you’ll be doing and there’s also plenty of chances to get involved as well, as a host, with the kids or the youth, or serving as part of the band. – St John’s Egham –
St John’s Church Egham is a community of people growing together as we grow to know God better. We are a family made up of a wide variety of people of all ages and from all walks of life. At St. John’s we love having Royal Holloway on our doorstep, we hope both to support Christian students to live as passionate followers of Jesus Christ, and to give the opportunity for any who are interested to investigate what Christianity is all about. On a Sunday we have a walking bus that meets outside The Hub to walk down to our morning service which starts at 11. (In the first few weeks there is bacon involved, so keep your eyes peeled!) We also have our Student Life Group which meets on Tuesday evenings during term time at 6.30 to eat together and then we start our bible study, discussion and prayer at 7.30. Students are more than welcome to come to as much or as little of the evening as they would like. We also have regular student lunches, one-to-ones, lunch bars, social events after church on a Sunday, and student life day in the summer term.
