We are blessed with so many great churches in the local area and cannot recommend enough that you check out and join a local church during your time at university. Here are some of the churches where Royal Holloway students go to already.
– Ascot Life Church –
At Ascot Life Church (part of the Newfrontiers family of churches) we want to be a church where people meet can meet Jesus, find a home, and be continually changed by God’s love and grace so that we can take his good news to those around us. Wherever you are in your faith, we would absolutely love to welcome you in to our diverse church family! Each Sunday we have two main meetings: LIFE10 at Ascot Racecourse, and LIFE6 – our evening service – at Ascot Life Centre. We’d be more than happy to pick you up for either of these from Founders Tennis Courts at 9.45am or 5.45pm, and in the middle we’ll always have lunch either all together as students or with different families in the church! On top of that we also have fortnightly small groups on campus so that we can grow together, special student events each term, as well as plenty more areas where you can get stuck into church life. – Christ Church Virginia Water –
At Christ Church Virginia Water we really want to know Jesus and make Jesus known. We are a family church situated in Virginia Water, just down the road from Royal Holloway. We have two services on a Sunday and we have a mini bus pick up for each of them, one at 10am (for the 10.30am service) and one at 6.10pm (for the 6.30pm service). As a student group, we always have lunch together on a Sunday, once a month with the whole church family and on the other weeks we are hosted by some amazing families from within the church. We meet up informally in the week to read the Bible together and just hang out! We love having students in our church and for them to be involved in the life of the church, whether through being in a small group or serving with the children, in the worship band, in hospitality or in some other way.

– The Journey –
We’re a friendly and passionate church family, immersed in our local community of Englefield Green. Royal Holloway is right on our doorstep, and was our original reason for being – many of us studied and continue to work and study on campus. We’re committed to figuring out what it means to follow Jesus together, to love God, one another and creation, getting our hands dirty as we participate in the adventure! We’re small and not particularly polished but we’ve got big hearts and care about people and place. Come and join us on a Sunday at 10:30am in worship, stick around for lunch and maybe a walk and good chat about life, the universe and everything, share dinner with a small group at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, spend time in our prayer room, help build something new with us (currently a pizza oven), plant carrots and flowers, help run a club for rowdy, rough-around-the edges kids, prepare lunch with the community once a month… Come dip your toe in the pool!
We’d love to meet you, regardless of where you are on your journey. On Sundays till end of Oct, some kind soul will wait at Founders clock until 10am to walk to our gathering with you. Here’s our website and some contact details: www.thejourney.org.uk – firstname.lastname@example.org – 07731196102
